Kaspersky Anti-Virus Internet Server Extension (Beta 1) =================================================================== Installation and usage of this extension requires good knowledge of Microsoft IIS management. Please, note that Kaspersky Labs does not provide technical support for MS IIS usage. This Internet Server Extension is intended to protect internet server against IIS-Worm.CodeRed (AKA Bady) worm and similar worms. The worm uses buffer overflow attack and affects servers based on Windows 2000 SP0. This extension checks every incoming request and rejects request with worm code to prevent possible attack. Installation procedure ---------------------- ATTENTION: Kaspersky Labs does not provide any support regarding installation routine. Any problems and questions must be addressed to MS IIS support service. 1. Install this Internet Server Extension as master(!) ISAPI filter: 1.1 Run Internet Services Manager 1.2 Choose you Internet Server. 1.3 Right click on it and choose "Properties". 1.4 Click "Edit..." button in "Master Properties" area. 1.5 Click on ISAPI Filters tab. 1.6 Click "Add..." button. 1.7 Set name for filter (any you want) and path to KAVISAPI.DLL 2. Restart Internet Server. 3. Check master ISAPI filters list and ensure the filter is loaded. Uninstall procedure ----------------- 1.
